About the role

The role is primarily responsible for leading and supporting the implementation of work health and safety initiatives and programs with workplace managers. The role has strong relationships with its customers and collaborates with key internal and external partners to deliver timely, efficient services and advice to support customer needs and meet service delivery requirements. This role has a focus on supporting workplaces across the state to provide a safe working and learning environment for staff and students and assisting the department meet its legislative responsibilities and strategic priorities.

 

About you

The successful candidate will be a dedicated and accomplished Work Health and Safety advocate, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire  confidence and drive positive outcomes across diverse workplace environment. You will demonstrate:

  • Experience in developing and implementing service delivery plans to provide high-quality customer service and effective support for workplace health and safety programs across multiple sites.
  • The capability to monitor, review, and analyse safety-related data to identify emerging issues and recommend improvements aligned with legislative requirements and departmental objectives.
  • Expertise in providing advice and building capability in risk management, incident and emergency management, wellbeing programs, training and induction related to workplace health and safety.
  • Skills in coordinating and leading workplace managers to respond to regulatory audits, responding to notices such as those from SafeWork NSW and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills to draft reports and briefing papers, contribute to policy and procedure development and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic insight to contribute meaningfully to the development and implementation of WHS policies, frameworks and initiatives aligned to Department priorities.
