As a trainee, you’ll work four days per week, working on real projects across School Infrastructure, and spend a day a week at TAFE NSW.  You’ll work as part of a team in either facility management, resource sustainability or developing opportunities for the shared use of school sites.

About you

  • You are enrolled in or willing to enrol in a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice at TAFE NSW to be completed before 30 June 2027.
  • You may be an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, and are able to quickly analyse information, provide advice and have excellent attention to detail. 
  • Intermediate computer literacy with ability to use Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC’s validity (up to 5 years)
