About the role

 

The Assistant Programs Officer is responsible for performing a variety of administrative, project and program tasks to support the effective delivery of workforce initiatives and programs.

 

Your responsibilities

 

  • Support the delivery of a range of projects and initiatives to ensure timely achievement of program and policy objectives.
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing local programs, improving participant experiences and outcomes for the early childhood education and care sector.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline administration and enhance service delivery.

About you –

 

As the Assistant Programs Officer you will be able to demonstrate

 

  • Ability to provide a range of administrative and support services to support effective program delivery and projects
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce administrative workload and enhance participant and stakeholder experience
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the successful delivery of a range of projects and initiatives that achieve program and policy objectives
  • Accurately assess forms and payment requests by verifying and analysing supporting documentation in line with established program guidelines
  • Prepare clear and well-structured draft correspondence, briefing notes, reports, and meeting minutes to support effective program delivery.
  • Apply strong technology skills to manage systems, data, and digital tools effectively.
  • Think analytically, solve problems, and develop practical, solutions-focused approaches.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in writing, producing concise and accurate documentation.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

 

Essential requirements of the role

  • An understanding of early childhood education and care (ECEC) or schooling settings, as well as the practices of higher education providers and national ECEC qualifications, is preferred.
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
