About the role

As the assistant project officer in the Major Project Design branch you will undertake a range of research, analysis, coordination and administrative tasks to support the development and delivery of policies and projects in achieving organisational priorities and objectives.

 

The Major Projects Design branch leads priority projects for the Early Childhood Outcomes Division. That means we work on interesting early education and care reform projects that are important to government. We work in a fast-moving and complex environment, complemented by a supportive, professional and inclusive culture.

About you

  • Able to build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead coordination of stakeholder engagement, internal/external meetings and governance meetings.
  • Actively participate in Early Childhood and Education Care program design and operational policy development.
  • Lead triaging of correspondence and drafting of responses, determining appropriate escalation and support actions.  
  • Have experience in program or project management to support effective program reporting and delivery.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change and can prioritise effectively.
  • Keen to contribute to a positive and inclusive culture where diversity is valued and well being is supported.

 

 

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
  • A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
