- Salary - $99,938 – 110,270
About the role
The Executive Assistant provides high-level executive and administrative support to the Executive Director and senior staff, ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. It involves coordinating travel and meetings, preparing reports and briefing materials, gathering information to support decision-making, and contributing to collaborative and project work across the Communication and Engagement directorate.
Your responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative services to the Executive Director, Communication and Engagement
- Support the Manager, Executive Office to improve collaboration across Communication and Engagement directorate.
- Maintain and update administrative practices, systems and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery
This role sits within the Communication and Engagement directorate which is a customer-focused business unit responsible for the development and delivery of great communications for the Department of Education. It is a fully integrated team working across a range of internal and external communications including traditional media, digital, social, employee, design, and broader stakeholder engagement.

About you –
As an Executive Assistant you
- have previous experience as an Executive Assistant (Desirable)
- are an excellent verbal and written communicator who enjoys working with a large team.
- thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to requests in a timely manner.
- can balance many competing work priorities.
- have a proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and discretion
- can bring stakeholders together to meet operational outcomes confidently.
- Have demonstrated high level computer skills including Microsoft Suite and other operational systems
- Have knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Hold or are willing to obtain a working with children’s check for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
