- Clerk Grade 11/12 - $149,739 to $173,174 plus superannuation and leave loading
About the role
- Lead complex industrial matters and strategic negotiations
- Advise senior leaders on industrial instruments and case law
- Manage enterprise bargaining and dispute resolution processes
- Build strong relationships with unions and government agencies
- Draft submissions, strategies, and high-level industrial advice
This role sits within the Employee Relations team and plays a key leadership role in managing complex industrial relations matters across the Department. As the Industrial Relations Manager, you will take the lead in the development, negotiation and implementation of industrial awards and conditions across our department. You will be:
- Leading a specialist team to provide expert advice on diverse and complex industrial relations matters
- Driving initiatives that align industrial relations strategies with legislative requirements

About you
- Extensive experience negotiating and resolving complex industrial relations issues
- Strong knowledge of industrial relations regulatory framework
- Demonstrated experience negotiating with unions and representing employers at tribunals
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders
- Skilled in maintaining strong professional relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to provide timely expert and strategic advice on complex industrial relations issues to senior management
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Tertiary qualifications in industrial relations, employment law, human resources or a relevant discipline and demonstrated knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
