  • Temporary Full-Time opportunity until 30 June 2025 with a possibility of a 3 year extension
  • Location: We offer a flexible working arrangement, with an expectation to attend our Parramatta head office
  • Salary from $125,693 to $138,510 plus employer Superannuation contribution and annual leave loading

 

 

About Child Wellbeing and Mental Health Services (CWMHS)

 

Child Wellbeing and Mental Health Services (CWMHS) delivers targeted student support in areas such as child protection, disability, mental health, and complex needs. The service aims to better align and coordinate psychological and child protection services in schools, respond effectively to urgent local issues, and promote best practice in service delivery.

 

About the role

 

This leadership role within the Child Wellbeing Unit oversees a team dedicated to supporting schools in managing incidents of problematic and/or harmful sexualised behaviours (PHSB). The role plays a critical part in guiding schools with expert advice, timely intervention, and education to ensure student safety and wellbeing.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Drive the development of PHSB-related resources, policies, and training that reflect best practice and meet school and student needs.
  • Monitor and report on PHSB trends and performance data to support service improvements.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, professional development, and ongoing improvement of learning programs and service delivery.
  • Review and document cases to evaluate student outcomes, systemic practices, assess agency collaboration, legislative and policy issues.
  • Foster strong relationships with school staff, principals and external stakeholders (including parents and carers when required)

About you

 

We’re seeking a dynamic, compassionate and strategic leader who has extensive background in child protection, education, social work or a related field. You will demonstrate:

 

  • Proven stakeholder engagement, building trusting relationships with various stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to deliver high-quality advice, briefings and resources
  • Understanding of safety management and ability to implement effective response strategies.
  • Experience working in a sensitive, high-stakes and complex environment
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and best practices in managing problematic and harmful sexualised behaviours.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
