About the role
Preschool support officer positions in the Early Learners Unit deliver essential services and support to schools with public preschools to ensure they are implementing the National Quality Framework (NQF). This includes ensuring they are compliant with legislative and regulatory obligations and meeting or exceeding the National Quality Standard. We are looking for team members with a passion for improving outcomes for our youngest learners. This role includes onsite support for public preschools.
The Public Early Childhood Education and Care (PECEC) directorate sits within the Early Childhood Outcomes Division and supports the delivery of quality NSW public preschool provision and implementation of government priorities such as the 100 new public preschools election commitment. The Early Learners unit within PECEC fulfils the responsibility of Approved Provider for public preschools.

About you
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold an ACECQA approved early childhood teaching qualification.
- Have expertise in implementing the National Quality Framework including early childhood curriculum and pedagogy.
- Be flexible and adaptable to change and able to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Be able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential requirements of the role
- Willingness to travel due to business requirements.
- A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
