  • Temporary Full-Time up to 30 June 2027
  • Location: Parramatta (flexible working arrangements available)
  • Salary $110,266 up to 122,058 + accrued flex leave and employer superannuation contribution

 

 

About the role

 

We are seeking a versatile Project Officer to support our dispersed and dynamic team. This role plays a vital part in coordinating projects and ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced and reactive environment.

You will be guided and supported by experienced team members but expected to work autonomously and show initiative, particularly in responding to project needs and business priorities. You will also:

 

  • Support project coordination, tracking, and reporting on status, deliverables, and risks
  • Prepare clear and concise correspondence, reports, and brief notes
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication
  • Assist in vocational education and training data interrogation and reporting
  • Perform administrative and secretariat duties as required
  • Contribute to policy-related tasks and budget tracking
  • Work on data-driven tasks and generate reports using Excel
  • Support business improvement initiatives through practical, tech-savvy input
  • Confidently attend and contribute to meetings as needed

About you –

  • Proven experience in project coordination and support roles
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship maintenance
  • Excellent communication and documentation capabilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data reporting
  • Understanding of vocational education and training environment
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully with attention to detail
  • A flexible and resilient team player who embraces a fast-changing environment
  • Good tech know-how and a willingness to learn new systems and tools
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC’s validity (up to 5 years)
