About the role

 

As the Recovery at Work Advisor, you will be responsible for managing injury cases and developing workplace recovery strategies that support staff returning to work safely and efficiently. The role requires strong relationship management and communication skills, and a sound understanding of injury management legislation and policy.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Delivering workplace injury management services and recovery advice in line with relevant policy, procedures, and legislation.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring return-to-work strategies that minimise disruption to educational settings.
  • Managing a portfolio of complex and medium-risk injury cases and reporting on performance metrics.
  • Drafting high-quality briefing papers, correspondence, and contributing to the development of procedures and support programs.
  • Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including rehabilitation providers and claims teams.
  • Leading or participating in case conferences and claims reviews to ensure consistent and effective case management.
  • Monitoring the performance of rehabilitation providers and recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Ensuring data management systems are kept up to date in line with departmental policies.

About you

With excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, you build trusted relationships and deliver practical, tailored advice that makes a real difference in people’s working lives.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Experience in workplace injury management, return-to-work coordination, or rehabilitation services
  • A sound understanding of relevant work health and safety, workers compensation, and injury management legislation and policy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, management, and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to develop and implement return-to-work strategies, particularly in complex or sensitive cases
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a case portfolio and meet performance targets
  • A collaborative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and using data to inform decision-making and reporting
