About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) Operations Officer to join our team in administering the NSW Department of Education’s SBAT Program. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic VET administrator to join a dynamic team passionate about supporting NSW Public School students in their HSC pathways.

About you
As an SBAT Operations Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient establishment of new school based apprenticeships and traineeships and monitor progress to contract registration. You will be an effective communicator in providing high-level customer service to stakeholders such as colleagues, schools, employers, and Registered Training Organisations. You will have expertise in maintaining administrative records and collating reports and data. Your skills will help facilitate positive outcomes for students engaged in this valuable training pathway.
The preferred candidate will:
- Have an understanding of the School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) Program and its operation within the relevant legislative and school contexts.
- Be experienced in the administration of high-volume projects or programs using IT programs or systems.
- Be effective in solving problems that align with established policies and procedures.
- Be passionate about developing and driving the success of a high-profile program ensuring that it meets its objectives in contributing to Our Plan for NSW Public Education
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
