About Fund Operations, NSW Childcare and Economic Opportunity (CEO) Fund Board

The CEO Fund Board is a key enabler to deliver new early childhood education initiatives that directly support those who need it most – children, families and the workforce. Over the next 10 years, the CEO Fund Board will improve supply of, and equitable access to, affordable quality early childhood education and care services for NSW families and children, and it will support and grow the ECEC workforce.

 

The Fund Operations team provides leads the governance, secretariat and finance reporting functions for the CEO Fund Board which has been legislated as a statutory authority and is a separate agency to the Department of Education (the department).

 

 

About the role

The Senior Finance and Risk Officer provides support for the development, implementation and evaluation of the CEO Fund Board’s finance and risk management strategies to achieve business outcomes and support the achievement of the Fund’s objectives. The role also coordinates and undertakes policy and project development, providing analysis, advice and contributing to the development of a range of projects to support the design and development of complex policy initiatives and reforms that support the CEO Fund Board’s organisational objectives and legislative commitments.

About you 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have demonstrated two (2) years’ experience in a management accounting, financial accounting AND/OR risk management role.
  • Have experience in reconciliations and preparation of monthly finance management reports.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting standards, accounting policies and legislation on financial reporting.
  • Proven record in monitoring and testing risk controls.  
  • Be able to work collaboratively with team members to produce policies & documentation to guide internal stakeholders on effective financial and risk management in accordance to legislation and business reforms.
  • Be able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hold or working towards CPA/CA qualification.

 

 

Essential requirements of the role

  • Degree Qualification (or currently completing a degree qualification) in Accounting or related discipline, eligibility or progress towards eligibility for membership to a recognised professional accounting body and/or equivalent workplace experience.
  • A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
