About the role

 

  • Manage secretariat functions of executive committees to support governance and strategic decision-making
  • Coordinate high-quality papers, agendas and reporting, aligned to the department’s Plan for NSW Public Education
  • Work with stakeholders to clarify inputs and meet tight deadlines
  • Connect information across divisions and initiatives to support strategic insight and planning
  • Drive process improvements with a focus on quality, consistency and impact

 

This role sits within a high-performing strategic advisory team that supports executive governance and oversight across the Department. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of governance forums and the delivery of timely, accurate information to senior decision-makers.

 

The ideal candidate combines exceptional attention to detail with strategic thinking, thrives in structured environments, and is energised by working across stakeholders to ensure operations run smoothly and effectively.

About you
 

  • Strong communicator able to influence, negotiate and coordinate with internal stakeholders
  • Understands how government priorities, governance and departmental processes align to support decision-making
  • Excellent writer and reviewer of executive papers, able to provide value-add feedback  
  • Skilled in analysing data, policy and contextual factors to support planning and investment
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC’s validity (up to 5 years)
