- Salary from $125,693 to 138,510 + Super + accrued flex leaves
About the role
As a Senior Project Officer, you will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of strategic projects from initiation through to completion. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure outcomes are met, providing expert advice, maintaining strong networks, and promoting effective collaboration across teams.
This role offers a high level of autonomy and accountability, requiring strong initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. While the role has no direct reports, you will work closely with colleagues across teams to support shared goals and contribute to organisation-wide outcomes. You will also:
- Lead and manage end-to-end project delivery, including project planning, risk and issue management, stakeholder consultation, and evaluation.
- Develop and apply project frameworks and methodologies to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
- Engage confidently with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare high-quality briefing notes, meeting papers, reports, and project documentation.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and sound judgment.
- Adapt effectively to changing priorities and shifting demands.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management practices and systems.

About you –
You are a self-starter with strong project management capabilities and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You thrive in complex, non-routine environments and enjoy the challenge of managing diverse stakeholders and shifting priorities.
- Proven experience in end-to-end project management.
- Understanding of the Training and VET (Vocational Education and Training) sector is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing and preparation of high-quality documentation.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project tools.
- Experience supporting governance processes, including minute-taking and secretariat functions.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC’s validity (up to 5 years)
