About the Opportunities 

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and innovative reporting professional to make a tangible impact on safety and wellbeing in public education. As a Senior Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing data, delivering high-quality reports and providing evaluation insights that support the Department’s strategic response to critical incidents and ongoing improvement. Your work will directly inform policy decisions and shape service delivery across the state.

 

You’ll be part of a collaborative, purpose-driven team within the Strategy, Governance and Compliance unit of the Health, Safety and Staff Wellbeing Directorate.

 

About the role

 

The Senior Reporting Analyst develops and delivers reports and evaluations that guide decision-making on health and safety programs across the Department. In this role, you will play a critical role in identifying trends, improving reporting systems, developing innovative data solutions and maintaining data integrity in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Establish collaborative and productive relationships with team members working on projects to achieve agreed reporting and evaluation outcomes.
  • Provide advice and support on end-to-end data management activities, including identification of internal and external data sources, data collection, database management and queries, design and development of dashboards, reports, and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain relevant systems, databases and processes and procedures to support and enhance the collection, analysis and retrieval of data for current and future requests.
  • Undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of data using sophisticated technology tools to support the production of reports that support Unit operational requirements and comply with the Department’s regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare high quality briefings, correspondence, research proposals and other documentation to support Unit operational requirements
  • Review research proposals and findings submitted by external sources to assess how they may enhance evaluation processes in line with the Department’s commitment to continuous improvement
  • Represent the Unit at stakeholder meetings to provide information and clarification on issues relating to reporting and evaluation.

About you

You’re a skilled reporting, insights and analytics professional who thrives in complex environments and values collaboration. You enjoy working with data to tell stories, solve problems and drive decision making. You have a strong track record of turning analysis into action.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in data reporting, insights, evaluation, and analysis within large or complex organisations.
  • Expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and other data management platforms.
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.
  • A passion for continuous improvement.
