About the role


This role sits within the Ministerial Support team, a key unit within the NSW Department of Education's Government Business directorate.

As a Senior Correspondence and Briefings Officer, you’ll play a central role in shaping high-quality communications for the Minister, Secretary, and executive leadership. You’ll collaborate across divisions to ensure advice is accurate, timely, and aligned with the department’s strategic goals.

 

  • Review and edit documents for clarity, accuracy, and impact
  • Coordinate responses and advice across teams to meet urgent deadlines
  • Build partnerships with subject matter experts to deliver quality advice
  • Manage workflows and ensure compliance with records management obligations

About you
 

  • Skilled in reviewing and analysing briefs, reports, and correspondence with a strong attention to detail
  • Able to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Confident communicator and effective at building collaborative working relationships
  • Knowledge of government processes and protocols is essential
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
