The Information Technology Directorate (ITD) delivers state-of-the-art information and communications technology (ICT) to over 100,000 employees and over 800,000 students in more than 2,200 public schools across NSW, as well as supporting staff at more than 90 offices around the state.

 

About the role

 

The Support Engineer will be responsible for managing installation, maintenance, integration, and upgrade projects in collaboration with key stakeholders, vendor representatives, and other IT teams and experts, ensuring thorough testing and validation of solutions.

 

They will assist in deploying fixes and changes to guarantee seamless integration into the production environment. By utilizing established work instructions and procedures, the engineer will effectively identify, categorize, and prioritize user and technological issues. Additionally, they will work closely with both internal and external partners to resolve complex technology challenges and ensure that technological solutions align with business and user requirements.

 

The role also involves contributing to the development and maintenance of technical and support documentation to improve operational efficiency, while ensuring that accurate records are kept in compliance with departmental protocols.
